Place a Hold Help

When you find a title in the catalog you want, but all its copies are checked out, you may place a hold on the title so the library will "hold" a copy for you when it is returned and notify you.
When the full record of the title you wish to place a hold on is displayed in the catalog, click on .
  · If you are not already logged into your account, type your library card’s barcode number and PIN and click (If you are logged into your account, you will not be required to retype your library card number and PIN)
  · If the hold is successful, you get the message "Your request for this item has been sent to the Library."
  · If your account is blocked you'll get the message "There is a problem with your library record. Please see a librarian."
  · Holds may be canceled when you are logged into your account. For more information see "Help" for that subject.

Holds may not be placed when:
  · the message in the catalog is "There is a problem with your library record. Please see a librarian."
  · you have reached your limit of free holds placed at the current time.
  · if your account is blocked due to fines, because you have billed items, if your card has expired, or some other manual block has been placed on your card.
  · the item is not requestable. Certain types of items such as equipment (camcorder, VCPs, and others) and Fiction Express titles may not be placed on hold.
  · the item is noncirculating, like Reference materials, or is "lost" or "discarded."
